Your privacy is important to us. It is Screention's policy to respect your privacy regarding any information we may collect from you across our website and application.
Screention does not require an account. Your screenshots, annotations, OCR text, and barcode contents are processed and stored locally on your device. We do not receive the contents of your screen.
The website uses a random visitor ID (stored in your browser) so we can see which pages people open, how long they stay, and which download buttons they click. If you enter an email to download the app, that email may be linked to the same visitor ID. We do not collect your computer username or hostname from the website tracker.
From app version 0.11.0, the desktop app may send technical usage statistics in the background, identified only by a random install ID stored on your computer. That payload can include:
We do not collect computer usernames, hostnames, screenshot pixels, extracted text, or IP addresses from the app.

Your screenshots stay on your device. Download records, website visit statistics, and technical app usage statistics are stored on our servers. We do not operate a cloud service for storing or processing your captures.
Screention does not sell paid plans and does not use a payment processor. If you follow a link to an external service, that service's privacy policy applies. Optional image upload uses a third-party host only when you choose to upload.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
